Arriving in Slovenia we had no idea what to expect. We really don’t speak the language and we didn’t really have much direction, just wanted to explore for a bit. It’s only been a few days really and we’re both honestly so impressed with what we’ve seen so far and the people we’ve encountered.
We spent the first couple of nights at Lepa Vida Winery https://winetasting.lepavida.wine/ at their camp stop which was really nice and calm, had electricity, which is always a bonus and of course… wine!
We did the wine tasting, tried some tasty food and met some great girls from Germany who we may have spent the evening drinking more wine with. The hangovers the next day were not pretty! BUT it was a great experience and I would definitely do it again.
We then headed to another campsite up in the hills and had a tranquil couple of days before adventuring to Tolmin and exploring the gorges. I make no secret of the fact that I’m petrified of heights, but to make the boy happy and to prove that I am, in fact, a secret adrenaline junkie, I did it.
We’re talking 100m drops and thin paths and bridges along the side of the cliff. Nailed it! I am impressing myself more each time we do something like this. Luke just rolls his eyes at me.
Tomorrow, we start a different adventure! More to be revealed soon.
Scary heights but looks like it was worth it! X
