Finding ourselves at a bit of a loss for what to do for the rest of our time in Croatia apart from slowly trawl up the coast, Luke found this National Park hidden in the forest so we decided to spend the day there.
Honestly, this place is amazing! Plitvice Lakes are the oldest and largest in the Republic of Croatia and we’ve not seen anywhere like it before. There are lots of different walking routes, some taking 3 hours and others taking 8 hours, I think we opted for 4 hours with a boat ride to the other side of the big lake and a shuttle bus back to the carpark. Shhhh our feet were tired and most people did the same route.
We were really lucky as the sun was shining and it was warm and there were quite a few people doing the walk, but I imagine in summer this place gets packed.
If you go to Croatia, this place has to be on your visit list. Walking amongst endless waterfalls on a rocky wooden path felt like such an adventure. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves!
